Alright, I know my thing at Dan’s Tunes is all about honesty, but this headline is a little bit of a lie. We are doing a fundraiser with Kittenteeth that’s called 7 Minutes in Heaven, but there aren’t any closets involved (unless that’s where your record player is), and it’ll actually be longer than seven minutes. Here’s the deal:
We partnered up with seven local artists to create packs of seven 7” records that we’re selling for $77 each. So, you get it. There’s a lot of “sevens” here. It’ll take you longer than seven minutes to listen to all of them, but it’ll probably only take you seven minutes to listen to one. So if you really want to make the most of this fundraiser, we suggest you move your record player into the closet (unless it was there already), grab one of the records, and close your eyes while your ear holes get kissed by greatness. One of the records, from Grace Love & Reset, is on cherry red vinyl, so put on some chapstick and pucker up.
The pack also has Love’s fellow We Coast recordmate Fysah & the Get Down Underground on a funky track about hope that features Jimmy James on guitar; Seattle’s own Bob Dylan — Chris King & the Gutterballs — on a track that’ll make you want to go bowling; Shaina Shepherd’s sophomore solo single about Kwanzaa and Black joy; a distorted, beachy track from Smoker Dad that evokes the wholesome romanticism of “Under the Boardwalk;” a guitar-driven split disk from Dusty and Medium Weekend; and some swingin’ Americana from Santa Poco.
Each pack is $77 plus shipping. We’ll ship them out in August. $7 from each sale goes to the band and $4 goes to Dan’s Tunes. There are only 50 packs available so get them now while they’re hot (get it, because you’d want the record you’re kissing in the closet to be sexy? Please don’t actually heat up the records. That’s bad for them).
